Brooklyn’s West Indian Day Parade

Today, September 4, 2017, in Brooklyn, New York, in the neighborhoods of Crown Heights and Flatbush, covered by the 71 and 67 NYPD Precincts the West Indian Day Parade was held and again, it was a day of shootings and violence as it has been since it originated in Harlem in the 1940s. I was a police officer assigned to the parade several times in the mid 1970s and experienced the violence which continues today. The question is why? The answer is difficult because the people committng these crimes are of the same color and culture. They have been handing down this violence to their children for generations and I still cannot understand why. This isn’t a black and white issue, it’s  a black on black issue and I’d like to know why.

Bye DACA

Today, President Trump started the process to eliminate the illegal DACA program started illegally by former President Obama. I don’t believe President Trump should have given Congress 6 months to decide to do away with the program. He should have ordered the immediate round up of the 800,000 illegals and their parents and shipped them back to Mexico where they came from and open up jobs for true Americans and those who entered America legally.
